What makes heirloom plants so great? Find out from Judy Barrett, who literally wrote the book on heirlooms! Doors open at 6:30pm for the opportunity to meet and mingle with local gardeners; club business begins at 7pm, followed by our guest speaker's presentation. Campers 8 to 10 years old will be spending the week outdoors gardening at the Zilker Botanical Garden and nature journaling in the green spaces of Zilker Park. Morning gardening adventures include plant exploration, harvesting, planting, and the week will culminate with a garden recipe! Click on the image to see the official poster.

Details:

  • Ages: 8 -10
  • Fee: $75
  • Time: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • Session: 1 week long Dates: June 10-14, June 17-21
  • Location: Campers sign in at the Oak Grove in the Zilker Botanical Garden.
  • Ratio: Minimum of 1 counselor for camp of 12 children.
  • Bring: Snacks, water bottle, walking shoes, sun screen, and completed waiver.
  • Wear: Play clothes and sneakers that can get dirty and damp

The Austin Cactus and Succulent Society will host the Cactus and Succulent Society of America 2013 Biennial Convention. Some events at the Convention are free and open to the public. It is a unique opportunity for gardeners of all ages. Details at www.cssa2013.com

TCMGA workshop


Zilker Botanical Garden is open 7am - 7pm while Daylight Savings Time is in effect; otherwise closing is at 5:30 pm. Please note parking information and the following closure information.

ClosedZilker Botanical Garden and the Garden Center Building are normally open every day. Additional closures may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. Scheduled closures include:

  • holidays including but not limited to Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
  • the day prior to our Spring festival, Zilker Garden Festival.
  • during the Zilker Kite Festival, usually held in the Spring.
  • during Austin City Limits Music Festival.
